More Recording capacity of Blu-ray DVD Disk format

Red lazer is used by the DVD and like the other similar optical disk technologies and blue-violet lazer by the format of bluray that is why it has been given the name of “blu-ray”. The wavelength of the blue laser is shorter (405nm) than that of the red laser which is 650nm. The laser spot is focused with greater precision due to the shorter wavelength of blue violet laser.

So the data on the blu-ray disk can be packed in less space and more tightly whose size is same as that of the DVD/CD. Numerical aperture (0.85) helps the blu-ray DVD disks to hold data of 25 GB.
