Low production cost of SDLT tape cartridge

SDLT technology has the system of LGMR which makes it more advantageous than the other tape formats. No pre-formatting is needed in format of SDLT tape.

During the process of manufacturing, on backside of SDLT tape reel are created ineradicable optical tracks. Therefore, there remains no need during the production of SDLT tape to pre-format it magnetically. This helps to reduce the cost of production of Super DLT tape cartridge and the so the user convenience also increases.
